Overview

Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to standards of care and the nursing process
- Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines
- Apply critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making in daily patient management
- Monitor maternal and newborn status, administer medications and therapies per orders, and document findings accurately
- Educate patients and families on care plans, postpartum/newborn care, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, effective, and timely progression of care in the antepartum/antenatal and postpartum/postnatal setting
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (CA)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Nursing degree from an accredited program (ADN or BSN)
- Experience in obstetric/maternity or maternal-newborn care preferred
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and to rotate to night shifts
