Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (L&D)
Start date: 08/10/2026
Duration: 13–16 weeks
Weekly Pay: $2,628–$2,655
Setting: Hospital travel assignment (Birthing Center environment)
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care in the birthing center
- Obstetric patient assessment and routine nursing duties
- Maintain monitoring of maternal and fetal status
- Administer medications per policy
- Perform assessments and document in the Epic EMR
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, nurses, and the broader care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Float as needed to med-surg and ED units while maintaining patient safety and quality of care
- Support family education, discharge planning, and newborn care education
- Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies, advocate for patient safety, and ensure accurate documentation and handoffs
Requirements
- Active RN license in Vermont in good standing (or eligible to practice in Vermont)
- BLS and NRP certifications required (AHA BLS and NRP)
- Minimum 1 year of Labor, Delivery, and Postpartum (LDRP) experience; experience across labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years
- Prior travel experience preferred
- Ability to work in a birthing center environment; must be comfortable floating to med-surg and ED units
- No block scheduling; schedules may be adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs
