Travel Registered Nurse ER Job
Overview
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department in York, Maine.
Start date: 08/10/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment.
Weekly pay: $1,964-$2,005 per week.
Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week.
Contract duration: 13 weeks.
Shift: 3x12 rotating (times may vary).
Work setting: Hospital-based Emergency Department.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered care to a diverse ED population, including assessment, monitoring, and treatment of acutely ill and injured patients.
- Perform triage, rapid assessment, and ongoing surveillance of patient status; administer medications and therapies per orders.
- Collaborate with ED physicians, nurses, and support staff to coordinate timely bloodwork, imaging, procedures, and dispositions.
- Communicate clearly with patients and families; document care accurately and maintain patient safety and infection control standards.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities and/or serve as a preceptor when assigned; participate in hand-offs and care transitions.
- Maintain readiness for rapid response and resuscitation scenarios, while adhering to department policies and evidence-based practice.
- No on-call duties required for this assignment.
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in the State of Maine.
- BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS certification preferred.
- Prior ER nursing experience; travel experience and charge/preceptor experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity ED environment.
- Capability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule and adapt to census fluctuations.
