About the Role

Medasource is seeking an experienced Travel X-Ray Technologist to join the Diagnostic Imaging team at IU Health Methodist Hospital, a premier Level I Trauma Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a travel position with a 13-week contract (extension opportunities available) in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and portable diagnostic X-ray examinations according to physician orders and department protocols.
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Operate digital radiography and portable X-ray equipment.
  • Maintain compliance with ALARA radiation safety standards.
  • Perform imaging for Emergency Department, inpatient, outpatient, ICU, and surgical patients.
  • Document procedures accurately within the Cerner EMR and PACS.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and ensure exam rooms are prepared for patient care.
  • Adhere to all infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT (R) certification required.
  • Indiana Radiologic Technologist license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start).
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital X-Ray experience.
  • Experience performing portable radiography and trauma imaging.
  • Ability to work independently in a high-volume hospital setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Siemens digital radiography experience preferred.
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred.
  • Previous Level I Trauma Center experience.
  • Previous travel healthcare experience.
  • Experience working with portable X-ray equipment in ICU, ED, and OR settings.
