Responsibilities
- Perform radiologic imaging exams (including X-ray series) and, where trained, CT, fluoroscopy, C-arm, and portable radiology procedures.
- Prepare and position patients, apply proper shielding, and adhere to radiation safety and infection control protocols to ensure high-quality exams.
- Verify patient information, document procedures, and process images for radiologist review; communicate any issues affecting image quality or safety.
- Provide support across locations as needed, including patient registrations and clerical tasks to assist walk-in teams.
- Maintain equipment, report malfunctions, and uphold established quality and safety standards; collaborate with radiology staff and supervisory teams to meet patient care needs.
- When CT services are involved, operate within credentialed scope and contribute to accurate CT imaging workflows across campuses when assigned.
Requirements
- Active ARRT registration and Maine Radiologic Technologist licensure
- BLS Certification
- Minimum 2+ years of hospital radiology experience
- Ability to work across multiple locations within the region as needed
- Education: relevant radiologic technology education credentialing; maintain ongoing professional licensure and safety training
- Preferred but not required: proficiency in bone density, fluoroscopy, C-arm, CT, and portable radiology
