Travel Radiology Tech CT Tech Job
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiography procedures and CT imaging following established protocols, operating radiography and CT equipment to obtain high-quality images
- Prepare patients, explain procedures, obtain cooperation, and provide instructions to minimize anxiety and ensure patient safety
- Position patients and adjust equipment to accurately demonstrate the area of interest; immobilize patients as needed; verify patient identity and procedure order
- Determine exposure factors, optimize image quality while minimizing radiation dose, evaluate images for technical quality, and document results with proper identification
- Administer or assist with contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner; practice aseptic technique and maintain Universal Precautions
- Maintain patient education and comfort during procedures; initiate basic life support if necessary; assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and interventional radiography procedures
- May float to other departments to perform X-ray duties up to 50% of the time and contribute to interdepartmental coverage as needed
Requirements
- OBM registration and ARRT CT technologist certification
- Current BLS certification
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Ability to work nights on a 4x10 schedule; willing to float to perform X-ray procedures up to 50% of the time
- CRASE training is preferred if the travel assignment extends beyond 6 months
