About the role
A Radiation Therapist administers radiation treatments to cancer patients under the supervision of oncologists. Responsibilities include preparing patients, operating radiation equipment, and monitoring treatment progress.
Responsibilities
- Prepares patients for radiation therapy sessions
- Operates radiation therapy equipment safely and accurately
- Maintains records of patient treatments and progress
- Monitors patient responses to treatment and reports any issues to medical staff
Requirements
- Current license to practice as a Radiation Therapist in North Carolina
- Experience in radiation therapy, preferably in a clinical setting
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and medical staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
- Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
- Passing scores on relevant certification exams
Skills
- Proficiency with radiation therapy equipment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good interpersonal skills
Pay
The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
Schedule
Shifts are 12 hours, days, with a start date of August 3, 2026.
