Travel Progressive Care Unit RN - $3,015 per week
Job Summary
The organization is seeking a Travel Nurse specializing in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a Level II Trauma Center located in Bangor, Maine. The role involves providing high-quality care to various patient populations, including trauma, stroke, cardiac, and surgical cases. Candidates must bring their licensed credentials on the first day of assignment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shifts from 07:00 PM to 07:30 AM or 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM, with an expected minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Valid certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Advanced clinical experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at least 1 year of intermediate-level care or 2 years of Medical/Surgical experience with some PCU.
- Completion of at least two 13-week assignments.
- Experience with stroke patients, neuro checks, ventilator management, chest tubes, wound care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and IV starts is necessary.
- A current license and either Cerner electronic medical record experience (highly preferred) or equivalent documentation of skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACCN) and Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) are preferred but not required.
Additional Information
- The role requires supporting on the unit with CNA, charge nurse, resource nurse, RT, hospitalist, trauma surgery monitors, physical and occupational therapists, and an IV team.
- Floating to Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Critical Care Unit may occur if needed.
- The candidate will follow hospital orientation plus one day on the unit, with scrub colors being flexible but professional.
