About the role

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The selected candidate will provide specialized telemetry care to a variety of patients, manage complex clinical situations, titrate vasoactive medications, and utilize advanced monitoring equipment within a dynamic hospital environment.

The unit is a designated comprehensive stroke and Level 2 trauma center with a focus on cardiovascular and vascular surgery. Floating to other units follows a rotation basis with travelers floating first.

The unit features advanced equipment including GE monitors, Hamilton Bipap and Hiflo ventilators, Baxter IV pumps, and Hemospheres. Staff regularly update bedside boards and conduct bedside shift reports during patient transitions.

Schedule

• Nights shift, 12 hours per shift
• Minimum 36 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized telemetry care to patients
• Manage complex clinical situations

Requirements

• Active ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• At least 1 year of nursing experience
• Current licensure in the state of New Hampshire
• Flexibility to work nights

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in telemetry
• Management of vasoactive medications such as levophed, phenylephrine, dopamine, dobutamine
• Familiarity with procedures like chest tube management, arterial line placement, Flo-Tracs, and temporary pacing
