About the Role

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in a healthcare organization. The RN is responsible for delivering safe, quality patient care by following established nursing care plans and supervising ancillary nursing staff. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and patient education within a dynamic clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission
  • Develops individualized care plans
  • Initiates discharge planning from the day of admission
  • Maintains accurate documentation
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members
  • Participates in patient education
  • Supervises and delegates to ancillary nursing staff
  • Ensures safety procedures are followed
  • Contributes to a positive work environment
  • Assumes charge nurse responsibilities following orientation
  • Pursues ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Qualifications

  • Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification prior to first shift
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift for CIRH only
  • Minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience
  • Relevant nursing education and licensure in good standing
  • Float rotation may be required

Schedule

  • Night shifts, 12 hours per shift
  • Minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Duration: 13 weeks
