About the role

Secure Nursing Service LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a 13-week assignment starting July 26, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Treatment of patients undergoing Cardiovascular and surgical services.
  • Utilization of Philips Cardiac Monitors, Tele, Welch Allyn Vital Signs Monitors, Invasive monitoring equipment.
  • Administration of EKG, IV Cardiac Medication, Peritoneal Dialysis, Chronic Ventilation, Chest Tubes, Epidural Catheters, PCA pumps, Transvenous pacing, Arterial or Venous Sheath care.
  • Management of Medtronic Pacemakers, Cerner EMR, Pyxis Med dispenser, Zoll R series, Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, Mistral Air Warming units.
  • Fast-paced cardiac and cardiac surgery care; handling patients from cath lab, open heart surgery, STEMI, NSTEMI, chronic vent, alcohol withdrawal, suicidal ideation, new BiPAP or CPAP patients, thoracotomies, renal disease.
  • Floating to the ICU preferred; float to MS/Tele required - expertise in arterial lines, sheath pulls.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year PCU experience.
  • EKG knowledge and skills.
  • IV Cardiac Medication administration.
  • Peritoneal Dialysis, Chronic Vents, Chest Tubes, Epidural Catheters, PCA pumps, Transvenous pacing, Arterial or Venous Sheath care.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience.

Skills

  • American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification.
  • BLS certification.
  • AZ nursing license.

Benefits

  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week.
  • Shifts: 12-hour days or nights, 3 shifts per week.
  • Option to work 4 shifts per week at regular rates if preferred.
  • Call coverage required, frequency to be discussed.
  • Weekends may be required.

Pay

Top pay with a match guarantee on a daily or weekly basis.

Schedule

7A-7P or 7P-7A 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week.

Bed Size/Number of Rooms

14 beds.

Nurse to Patient Ratio

1 RN to 3-4 PCU patients depending on acuity.

Dress Code

Navy scrubs, business-appropriate hair color.

Training and Orientation

Specific training and orientation program focused on fast-paced cardiac and cardiac surgery care; handling patients from cath lab, open heart surgery, STEMI, NSTEMI, chronic vent, alcohol withdrawal, suicidal ideation, new BiPAP or CPAP patients, thoracotomies, renal disease.
