Travel Physical Therapist General Job

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy evaluation, treatment, and re-evaluation for patients with disabilities, injuries, or diseases, aiming to relieve pain, restore motor function, and maintain optimal performance per APTA standards
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient goals
• Document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in the medical record according to policy
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, and long-term wellness strategies
• Occasionally provide inpatient coverage as needed, in addition to outpatient duties

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited college or university in physical therapy, or degree in a related field
• Experience: One to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Licenses/Certifications: Current California Physical Therapy license, or eligible for registration; Current BLS certification; Valid California driver’s license when travel is required
• Additional: Member of APTA preferred; Able to work independently with minimal supervision; Strong communication and organization skills

Pay and Hours

• Weekly pay range: $2,095 to $2,151 per week
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
• Contract duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12-hour days
• Start date: 08/03/2026
