Travel Physical Therapist General Job
Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations per professional standards;
- Develop a Plan of Care with short- and long-term goals;
- Implement the Plan of Care on a consistent schedule and adjust based on patient progress and response;
- Apply a broad range of PT techniques, including therapeutic exercise, gait training, neuromuscular re-education, manual therapy, and modalities as appropriate;
- Develop discharge plans with a home exercise program and caregiver instructions; facilitate safe transitions;
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in line with approved medical and payer requirements;
- Supervise physical therapy assistants as indicated and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team; communicate patient progress to staff and referrals.
Requirements
- Active Illinois Physical Therapist license;
- 1+ year of physical therapy experience;
- Inpatient experience required;
- Active BLS certification (American Heart Association);
- Ability to work in an inpatient setting and communicate effectively with patients and team;
- Eligible to work in the United States.

This travel, temporary assignment starts on 08/10/2026 for 13 weeks in an inpatient care environment. Weekly pay ranges from $2,195 to $2,235 per week with 40 guaranteed hours. Shift: 8-hour days (8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.), on a 5x8 schedule, with the option to align to 4x10s if requested. The role centers on planning and executing rehabilitation programs to help patients regain a higher level of physical function, using a range of techniques and strong patient communication.
