Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule Shift: 5x8.0
Job Description: The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for delivering superior quality care and ensuring the safety of patients and employees. This role requires the implementation of treatment goals and therapeutic interventions as directed by the Physical Therapist. The assistant will promote patient safety and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Implement treatment plans and goals established by the Physical Therapist.
- Aid in therapeutic interventions, including posture training, strengthening exercises, balance exercises, and functional skills training.
- Train patients in the use of assistive devices such as canes, crutches, and wheelchairs.
- Demonstrate the use of various therapeutic modalities and equipment.
- Maintain a safe treatment environment and ensure cleanliness of equipment and facilities.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team and participate in therapy team conferences.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding body mechanics and treatment processes.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure: Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school. CAPTE Certified. 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience. Active CPR certification. Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
