Job Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant will utilize evidence-based practices to provide rehabilitative and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders. Under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist, the assistant will be responsible for administering various rehabilitation procedures and assessing patient progress. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide skilled treatment interventions to patients under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.

  • Administer therapeutic exercises, ambulation, manual techniques, and modalities as part of the rehabilitation plan.

  • Absess patient progress and communicate adjustments to the supervising Physical Therapist.

  • Document all required information in the electronic documentation system.

  • Attend required meetings and participate in trainings and in-services.

  • Supervise and support students under the guidance of the supervising Physical Therapist.

  • Adhere to APTA and state required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • 1+ years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant (REQUIRED).

  • Long-term care or rehabilitation experience (REQUIRED).

  • Active Physical Therapist Assistant license (REQUIRED).

  • New graduates with Level II experience will be considered.
