About the role

This is a travel contract position for a Physical Therapist in Juneau, Alaska. The role involves providing general physical therapy evaluations and treatments to impact patients’ functional abilities, overseeing and directing the work of Physical Therapist Assistants and other designated staff members, and implementing and modifying therapy plans of care based on ongoing assessments of patient responses.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations, identify therapy diagnoses, and formulate and implement treatment plans with goals.
  • Supervise therapy plans of care and modify treatment according to patient responses.
  • Attend care conferences and maintain communication with referring providers and healthcare professionals.
  • Document patient encounters, findings, treatments, and recommendations according to policies.
  • Facilitate healthcare partnerships between providers, patients, and families.
  • Create clear home exercise programs and educate patients and families on self-care and independence.
  • Assist in administrative matters and ensure clinical spaces are kept clean and well-stocked.
  • Participate in committee duties and provide education on physical therapy issues to staff and patients.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and practice standards set by the American Physical Therapy Association.

Requirements

  • Active Alaska Physical Therapist License at the time of submission.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Entry-level qualifying master's or doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program or graduate from an APTA approved program with 2 years of proven experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in adult outpatient rehabilitation.
  • Flu vaccinations are mandatory.

Schedule

  • 40 hours per week with 30 minutes to 1 hour unpaid lunch.
  • Clinic hours: Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 6 PM and Saturday from 8 AM.
  • Shift: 8 hours, days.
