About the role
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting requiring 2+ years of experience and BLS certification, with inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.
- Acute care hospital with attached 71-bed skilled Extended Care facility and Level IV trauma designation
- Both inpatient and outpatient physical therapy settings
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs
- Uses Cerner for hospital charting and PCC for long-term care documentation

- Plan of care development
- Discharge documentation
Requirements
Required:
- Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience
- BLS certification
- State license (compact license accepted)
Preferred:
- Cerner charting experience
- Experience with orthopedic conditions including joint replacements, spinal conditions, and fractures
- Experience with modalities such as e-stim, ultrasound, traction, and hydrotherapy
- Experience with assistive and adaptive devices, gait training, and body mechanics
- Experience with cardiopulmonary, geriatric, and wound care patient populations
- Experience with neurologic conditions such as dementia, Parkinson's, MS, and TBI
Schedule
- Day shift, 5×8 hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM)
- Potentially Monday through Friday
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- No time off permitted within the first two weeks due to orientation
- General limit of one week of time off during the assignment
