About the role
Travel Physical Therapist position in Waimea, Hawaii. This role requires a Hawaii PT license as soon as possible. The position involves working in a mix of inpatient (25%) and outpatient (75%) settings, including acute, ICU, SNF, and outpatient clinics. The PT will need to handle evaluations and treatments independently in a rural Kauai environment, with a focus on thorough care approaches for all outpatient diagnoses and inpatient mobility progression, including discharge planning.
Work settings include ER, ICU, Med/Surg (Acute, Observation, and SNF), occasionally OB, and extensively in the hospital-based Outpatient PT Clinic. The schedule consists of a mix of inpatients and outpatients every 30-45 minutes (one hour for new evaluations), with a caseload of 5 to 15 patients per day.
Responsibilities
- Perform PT evaluations and treatments in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Work independently in rural Kauai, handling all outpatient diagnoses and inpatient mobility progression
- Manage discharge planning for patients
- Provide care in ER, ICU, Med/Surg (Acute, Observation, SNF), occasionally OB, and outpatient PT clinic
- Handle a mixed caseload of 5 to 15 patients per day, with 30-45 minute sessions (one hour for new evaluations)

Pay
Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
Holiday pay is based on hours worked on: New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
