About the Role
This travel position involves providing inpatient physical therapy services in acute care settings, covering mid-level critical care floors, medical-surgical floors, orthopedic units, and inpatient rehabilitation within a healthcare facility. The role requires a proactive, efficient therapist capable of managing a patient load and completing documentation within standard timeframes.
The therapist will collaborate within a team of six physical therapists, supporting both Lufkin and Livingston locations during designated periods, with potential weekend coverage planned in advance. The core focus is on inpatient rehab, with about 90% of work occurring on the unit and the remaining 10% in orthopedic or medical-surgical floors.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient physical therapy services in acute care settings.
- Manage a patient load, treating approximately four inpatient rehab patients per day.
- Complete documentation within an 8-hour shift, targeting a census of 22 units per span of 8 hours.
- Cover various inpatient floors, including mid-level critical care, medical-surgical, orthopedic units, and inpatient rehabilitation.
- Support both Lufkin and Livingston locations as needed, including planned weekend coverage.
Requirements
- Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in inpatient physical therapy.
- Licensed to submit credentials.
Schedule
- 40 hours per week.
- Shift hours negotiable between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM, utilizing 4-10-hour shifts or 5-8-hour shifts.
