Travel PCU / Stepdown RN - $1,933 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking a Progressive Care Unit RN for a travel nursing opportunity in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The RN will care for patients who require close monitoring and frequent assessment but are not unstable enough to need ICU care.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology
• Utilize computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information, detecting changes to enable intervention in life-threatening or emergency situations

Requirements

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience
• ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications required
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Able to easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times
• Good skills for coping with stress and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds

Schedule

• Duration: 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour night shifts
