Travel PCU/Stepdown RN - $1,827 per week

About the Role

NuWest Travel Nursing is seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel contract in Birmingham, AL. In this role, you will provide specialized care to mixed-acuity adult patients on a designated Trauma and Burn PCU/Stepdown unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality direct patient care for stepdown and med/surg acuity trauma and burn patients.
• Continuously monitor telemetry, evaluate hemodynamic status, and manage specialized care plans.
• Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and blood products as prescribed.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care with physicians, surgeons, and allied health professionals.
• Assess, document, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.

Requirements

• Active RN License (Alabama or eNLC Compact License in hand).
• Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS required.
• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of stepdown, PCU, or telemetry experience preferred.

Schedule

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 3x12 night shifts with an every-other-weekend requirement

Pay

Pay Range: $1585.64 - $1865.46 Per Week
