About the role
The nurses in our Progressive Critical Care Unit care for some of the most medically delicate and surgically complex patients in our region. This position requires a focus on patients dealing with respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications.
Responsibilities
- Provide competent care for medical and surgical populations.
- Administer advanced hemodynamics, including pressor usage per titration protocols.
- Manage antihypertensive drips, sedative and naloxone drips, and thrombo-embolytics.
- Utilize critical care equipment such as a CVP, EVD, and ortho traction.
- Follow infection prevention protocols and utilize high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPap/Cpap, and oxypendent as necessary.
- Maintain a patient load averaging three high-acuity patients.
Requirements
- Epic experience is required.
- ACLS certification is necessary.
- Experience in large-scale adult PCU and community hospital ICU preferred.
Schedule
- Night shift: 7 PM to 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week (across 48 hours available)
- 12-hour shifts
- 13-week contract
