About the role
The Progressive Care Unit is an inpatient overflow unit that manages mixed levels of care, specifically medical-surgical and step-down patients. It is designed for short-stay patients, focusing on rapid turnover and efficient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in a progressive care setting.
- Monitor telemetry and assess patient conditions, reporting changes to the charge nurse.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Perform patient assessments and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Assist in the management of patients' immediate healthcare needs and comfort.
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of North Carolina.
- Telemetry competency and progressive care experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
Schedule
- 13-week contract position.
- 36 hours per week.
- Shift: 12 hours, days (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM).
