Travel PACU Registered Nurse - $2,515 per week

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in Post Anesthesia Care Units (PACU) to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent care for patients post-operatively, including those requiring Stepdown and ICU boarding in a Level 1 and Stroke Certified Health System.

Responsibilities

• Provide Phase 1 and Phase 2 care in an 18-bed critical care PACU environment.
• Care for post-operative patients and those with various critical conditions.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure optimum patient care and safety.
• Manage patients requiring advanced interventions, including ventilation, A-lines, chest tubes, and midlines.
• Participate in patient assessment, monitoring, and care planning.
• Absorb and assist in maintaining the heart of healthcare and providing safe and appropriate care.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in PACU, with additional experience in ICU, Critical Care, or Emergency Room.
• Current New York State RN License.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Current certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle complex patient scenarios.

Schedule

This position offers a PM shift from 1100 to 2330 hours and requires commitment to weekend shifts, typically every other weekend. The nurse-to-patient ratio is dependent on acuity, commonly 1:2 or 1:3 with a case load of 30-45 patients per day.
