About the Role
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational or Physical Therapist for an outpatient hand therapy position in Hillsboro, Oregon. This is a 13-week travel assignment with a start date of August 24, 2026, offering 40 hours per week on a day shift schedule.
The role is based in an outpatient rehabilitation clinic specializing in hand therapy, with options for either 4x10-hour shifts (7:30 AM–6:00 PM) or 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM–4:30 PM). No floating is required within this unit, though candidates may occasionally float to an affiliate hospital per facility policy.
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient hand therapy in a specialized clinic setting.
- Use Epic EMR for documentation and charting.
- Adhere to facility policies, including potential floating to an affiliate hospital.
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in outpatient hand therapy (new graduates will not be considered).
- Active Oregon state license required at time of submission.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required (RQI not accepted).
- Epic EMR experience required.
- COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted.
- Two manager or supervisor references from the last 24 months required.
- Comprehensive background check required with no tolerance for issues.
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential preferred.
Additional Information
- First-time travelers and local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate with no mile radius restriction.
- Requested time off must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed 2 weeks.
- Former OHSU employees or previous travelers must be separated for 6+ months before returning as a traveler.
- Refusal to float to an affiliate hospital may result in contract cancellation.
- Pre-start training modules vary by profession and must be completed.

Pay
