TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for an Operating Room position in Columbus, Ohio. The assignment starts 11/02/2026, lasts 13 weeks, requires 40 hours per week on 8‑hour evening shifts, and is a travel employment type. The role involves assisting physicians and medical staff with surgical patient care, pre‑ and post‑operative duties, and patient education. Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Serve as the communication liaison between patients' family members and members of the operating team.
• Ensure that the correct procedure(s) is being performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician; teach patients and families how to manage medication and home care needs.
• Respond to comfort and safety needs of the patient.
• Accurately care for and handle specimens.
• Monitor equipment used during surgery.
• Perform inventory of surgical items pre‑ and post‑procedure.
• Select and handle surgical instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Assist physicians by delivering direct surgical care.
• Help control bleeding.
• Suture patients following surgery.

Requirements

• BLS certification.
• 2 years recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse (RN first assistant experience is a plus).
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds easily; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work safely amid potential exposure to chemicals or infectious
