Call Expectations
- Average Call Frequency: 4–5 shifts per month
- A wide variety of cases may present while on call; flexibility is essential
Equipment & Technology
- Extensive inventory across multiple specialties
- Vendors are present across many service lines
- Agency RNs are expected to be comfortable working with a broad range of OR equipment and devices
Responsibilities
- Take call
- Support multiple service lines as needed
- Maintain a strong foundational OR skill set to safely support a variety of case types
- OR RNs will not be expected to assist in other departments unless they have prior experience
