Travel Operating Room First Assistant Technician - $1,505 per week

About the role

Travel First Assist Technician position in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Specialty: First Assist Technician; Discipline: Allied Health Professional. Assignment duration: 13 weeks (approximately 10/12/2026 – 01/11/2027). Employment type: Travel. Expected commitment: 36 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical assistance in the operating room for general, orthopedic, neuroscience, robotics, spine, urology, and ENT procedures.
• Handle call responsibilities; total call hours estimated at approximately 120 hours per contract, scheduled by the clinician on weekdays and weekends.
• Participate in a one‑week orientation prior to assignment start.
• Self‑schedule call and shift coverage, maintaining a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Work a weekend shift every 6 weeks.
• Float within Zone 1 (facilities: PEN, SFH, SFI, SMC, STMS) as required.
• Use EPIC for charting and adhere to scrubs dress code.

Requirements

• Valid BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• License submission required.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Experience with general, neuro, and robotics cases.

Skills

• Proficiency in surgical assisting across multiple specialties.
• Ability to manage call schedules and self‑schedule shifts.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic charting.
• Adaptability to float between assigned facilities.

Pay

Pay package based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

• 12‑hour day shifts, starting at 6:30 a.m.
• Approximately 36 hours per week minimum.
• Weekend shift required every 6 weeks.
• Call responsibilities totaling ~120 hours per contract, scheduled weekday or weekend.
• Assignment dates: 10/12/2026 – 01/11/2027 (13 weeks).
