It involves providing occupational therapy interventions to patients in accordance with referrals, including assessment, care planning, patient and family education, and documentation. The role requires demonstrating knowledge and skills suitable for delivering age-appropriate care to patients on the unit. Job Details Assesses patients and develops care plans aligned with physician, patient, and family goals. Provides high-quality and safe patient care in an inpatient environment. Completes all necessary documentation related to patient treatment, including records of assessments and interventions. Aims to facilitate the patient's return to maximum independence. Maintains a cost-effective treatment approach. Participates in the orientation of new employees and volunteers. Evaluates and instructs therapy students and therapy assistant students during clinical placements. Regularly performs duties of Charge Therapist to ensure smooth department operations. Provides courteous service to all patients, employees, and associates. Adheres to hospital safety standards. Ensures departmental objectives are met. Administers occupational therapy care plans to children, including assessments and interventions in areas such as fine motor skills, self-help skills, development, and durable medical equipment. Coordinates with a CCS Case Manager for referrals to CCS panel providers or CCS Medical Therapy Units for ongoing therapy after discharge. Performs other duties as assigned.
