Travel Occupational Therapist - Acute Care - $2,885 per week

About the Role

Critical Connection, Inc is seeking a skilled and compassionate Hand Therapist (Occupational Therapist) to join our team for a travel assignment in Seward, Alaska. This role specializes in the evaluation and treatment of conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with upper extremity conditions including post-surgical cases, fractures, tendon injuries, nerve injuries, and chronic conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals and clinical findings
• Fabricate and fit custom orthoses/splints for various diagnoses
• Provide manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and modalities to improve function and reduce pain
• Educate patients on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and recovery expectations
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in the state of practice
• Certification as a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) preferred (or eligibility/interest in obtaining)
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in hand therapy or outpatient orthopedic setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of upper extremity anatomy, biomechanics, and rehabilitation techniques
• Experience with splint fabrication highly preferred

Preferred Skills

• Excellent manual therapy and clinical reasoning skills
• Strong communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Experience in outpatient or clinic-based settings

Work Setting

Outpatient clinic or hospital-based therapy department. Patient population includes post-operative, orthopedic, and neurological upper extremity conditions.

Schedule

• Duration: 13 weeks
• 40 hours per week
• Shift: 8 hours, days (07:00:00 - 15:00:00)
• Employment Type: Travel

Pay

Competitive hourly or weekly pay (travel or local). Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
