Travel Occupational Therapist - $2,370 per week

About the role

Occupational Therapist Inpatient (OT IP) — the organization is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist for an inpatient role. The position involves evaluating, planning, and supervising occupational therapy treatments in accordance with medical referrals and regulatory standards. Clinical competence is required to provide appropriate patient care across diverse age groups.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients’ functional abilities and limitations to determine intervention needs
• Develops measurable, patient-related treatment goals in collaboration with patients and caregivers
• Implements individualized treatment plans considering physical, social, spiritual, cultural, educational, and age-specific needs
• Conducts comprehensive evaluations within departmental time frames and documents findings according to regulatory standards
• Communicates evaluation and treatment results to physicians, nurses, patients, and families in a clear and timely manner
• Participates in department and facility process improvements, and provides training and orientation for new personnel
• Takes initiative to assist in various patient care areas, ensuring safe, effective, and cost-efficient patient care
• Involves patients and families in decision-making and discharge planning, and supports interprofessional collaboration

Requirements

• Successfully completed an accredited occupational therapy educational program
• Current Occupational Therapy license from the state of practice
• BLS certification
• Familiarity with clinical competency, training, and education relevant to the role
• Ability to become proficient with computer software applications used in patient care

Physical demands

The role requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently; possess physical agility and reaction time for unexpected patient needs; lift up to 75 pounds; and use standard precautions due to exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
