Travel Nurse RN - Stepdown - $2,254 per week

About the Role

IMC/PCU/Stepdown Registered Nurse position in the PCU Department at CHI Health Good Samaritan, located at 10 E 31st St, Kearney, NE 68847. Target start date: 09/28/2026.

Responsibilities

• Provide care on a 40-bed PCU unit with an average daily census of 24
• Manage patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on both days and nights
• Care for patients with diagnoses including cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post-stent, post-pacer, and renal failure
• Titrate drips (Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin)
• Read and interpret telemetry strips
• Work every-other weekend and a minimum of 2 holidays that fall within the contract timeframe
• Adhere to unit policies including a 30-minute arrival window if called back from on-call
• Complete 1 day of unit-specific orientation with an open-book pass/fail skills exam (must score 90%+ to pass)
• Comply with dress code: navy blue scrubs and strict artificial fingernail policy

Requirements

• Competency in Arterial Lines
• Active state RN license
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius (driver’s license required at submittal)
• Cannot be an active full-time, part-time, or PRN employee with any CommonSpirit facility (including CHI and/or Dignity)
• Request time off (RTO) must be provided upfront (maximum of 7 days per 13-week contract)

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts: Days (0630–1830) or Nights (1830–0630)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Block scheduling not approved unless weekends only
