Travel Nurse RN - Preoperative - $2,510 per week

Pre Op Registered Nurse position on the Central California Coast in San Luis Obispo, CA. Responsible for providing comprehensive pre‑operative and post‑operative care to patients across all age groups (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics). The role requires technical proficiency, patient assessment, education, and discharge planning in a fast‑paced healthcare facility. Start date: October 19, 2026; duration: 13 weeks; employment type: travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre‑ and post‑operative/procedure care for patients with diverse healthcare needs and disease processes.
• Manage technical skills and equipment.
• Perform patient assessment, education, and discharge planning.
• Recognize recurrent patient problems, symptoms, and behavioral changes.
• Interpret ECG rhythms.
• Manage care during emergencies.
• Review medical data and delegate care tasks.
• Develop multidisciplinary care plans.
• Complete accurate documentation.
• Perform safety and quality checks.
• Identify symptoms of distress and demonstrate knowledge in patient care during post‑operative phase two.

Requirements

• Associate Degree (A.S.) in Nursing or equivalent (required).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).
• Completion of a basic cardiac arrhythmia class (required).
• Minimum 6 months experience in medical‑surgical nursing within the last 2 years (preferred).
• Minimum one year experience in pre‑ and post‑op diagnostic catheterization laboratory (preferred).
• Current RN license in the state of practice (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (required).

Schedule
