Travel Nurse RN - Preoperative - $2,488 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Preoperative for a travel nursing job in Yankton, South Dakota. TotalMed RN is a Top Ten travel nursing and healthcare staffing agency with the mission of igniting purpose in healthcare, staffing nurses, therapists, pharmacists, and other clinicians in all 50 states and matching caregivers with the right organization to assist facilities and patients. The position is for a Pre‑Op RN with an immediate opening, requiring 1‑2 years' recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer pre-surgery medicine if necessary
• Evaluate admission documents
• Identify emergency procedures
• Adhere to necessary pre-operation policies and procedures
• Coordinate nursing care including collection and analysis of assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses, identify expected outcomes, and develop plan of care in collaboration with patient/family and interdisciplinary team
• Provide basic bedside care
• Implement and evaluate patient care plans based on patient assessment
• Provide IV therapy
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies

Requirements

• 1-2 years' recent acute care experience
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, stoop without difficulty
• Ability to lift 20 pounds easily; may need to lift up to 50 pounds when moving or lifting patients
• Good stress‑coping skills and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds

Schedule

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours per week: 40 hours
• Shift: 8 hours, days
