Travel Nurse RN - Preoperative - $2,128 per week

About the role

As a Pre-Op Travel Nurse, you will administer pre-surgery medicine if necessary, evaluate admission documents, identify emergency procedures, and adhere to necessary pre-operation policies and procedures. Pre-op RNs will be responsible for the coordination of nursing care to include the collection and analysis of assessment data in determining nursing diagnoses, identification of expected outcomes, and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate admission documents
• Identify emergency procedures
• Adhere to pre-operation policies and procedures
• Coordinate nursing care, including collection and analysis of assessment data
• Determine nursing diagnoses
• Identify expected outcomes
• Develop plan of care in collaboration with patient/family and interdisciplinary team
• Provide basic bedside care
• Implement and evaluate patient care plans based on patient assessment
• Provide IV therapy
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
• Lift up to 20 pounds routinely; may need to lift up to 50 pounds when moving/lifting patients
• Cope with stress in a fast-paced environment
• Relate to people of all ages and backgrounds

Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• PALS certification
• 1‑2 years’ recent acute care experience
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Pay

Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

Duration: 13 weeks; 40 hours per week; 8 hour day shifts.
