About the role
Pediatric Psychology (Psych RN) position in Westbrook, Maine. This role involves providing specialized mental health care for adolescent patients with complex psychiatric conditions, including thought disordered, psychotic, personality disorder, and manic episodes. The position requires clinical expertise in acute adult mental health within a pediatric psychology setting.
ICU role in a 6-bed adolescent unit, primarily handling patients with acute mental health conditions. Shift: Evenings, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with 36 hours per week guaranteed.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized mental health care for adolescent patients with complex psychiatric conditions
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in acute adult mental health within a pediatric psychology setting
- Handle patients with acute mental health conditions in a 6-bed adolescent ICU unit
Requirements
- Valid nursing license
- De-escalation skills
- Experience with acute adult mental health
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Education modules relevant to psychiatric nursing
- Strong ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
- Business casual dress code (no ripped jeans, shorts, logo T-shirts, or open-toed shoes)
