About the role

Pediatric Psychology is seeking a qualified healthcare professional for a temporary assignment in a pediatric behavioral health inpatient facility. The role involves supporting pediatric patients aged 5 to 18 with various mental health diagnoses, including eating disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, and suicidal ideation. Responsibilities include providing traditional medical and psychiatric care, facilitating therapy sessions, and supporting a multidisciplinary team in a secure environment.

Schedule

  • Nights shift, 12 hours per shift
  • Minimum 48 hours per week
  • Assignment dates: 09/14/2026 through 12/12/2026
  • Holiday rotations and self-scheduling shifts
  • Float rotation may be required between pediatric and adult units

Responsibilities

  • Provide traditional medical and psychiatric care to pediatric patients
  • Facilitate therapy sessions
  • Support a multidisciplinary team in a secure environment
  • Perform de-escalation, physical restraints, medication passes, group facilitation, and documentation

Requirements

  • Valid state RN license
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum of 1 year of pediatric behavioral health nursing experience
  • Experience with de-escalation, physical restraints, medication passes, group facilitation, and documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pediatric behavioral health experience preferred
  • Pediatric psychiatric experience considered a plus

Additional Information

  • The unit supports a mix of pediatric and adult patients, including involuntary and voluntary admissions
  • Patient ratios: approximately 1:5-6 for registered nurses and 2-6 for psych techs depending on the shift
  • Orientation includes one week of facility and unit training
  • Work environment is secure, with trained staff responding to escalations
