Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $2,560 per week

About the role

• 12-hour shifts, days or nights
• 15-bed unit with 22 staff (RN/PCT)
• Day Shift: 3-4 RN, 2 PCT, 1 Clinical Coordinator
• Night Shift: 3-4 RN, 1 PCT
• Patient Ratios: 4-5 patients per RN
• Equipment: Cardiac Telemetry, Chest tubes, Cardiac drips (NTG, Cardizem, Amiodarone), Post Cath Patients, post-surgical patients (open heart, lung, general surgery, post-op orthopedic requiring cardiac monitoring)
• EMR: Meditech

Responsibilities

• Manage post cardiac cath, EP studies, device placements, groin management, chest tubes, post-op surgical patients
• Administer critical drips, epidurals, PCA
• Float to ICU (PCU-type patients), PCU, Med-surg (up to 5 patients)
• Work every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts

Requirements

Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

• PCU experience
• Knowledge of cardiac rhythms and surgical patients
• Chest tube management, epidurals
• BLS & ACLS certifications

Preferred: candidates with these skills will be considered first.

• Teamwork ability
• Time management with high turnover of patients
• Outgoing, team-oriented personality willing to go above and beyond for patients
