Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $2,520 per week
About the Role
Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignment in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. This is a 4-week travel position starting on 10/05/2026, with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Work 12-hour night shifts, including every 3rd weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
- Work 2 out of 3 holidays as required.
- Participate in on-call/standby rotations with a 45-minute response time.
- Float to other units, including the ED, or accept reduced hours if floating is not an option.
- Wear solid-color scrubs of your choice.
- Complete 4 hours of computer-based training (CBT) and 8 hours of floor training during unit orientation.
- Participate in self-scheduling with assistance from a scheduler to fill staffing gaps; block scheduling may be considered but is not guaranteed.
- Be flexible with scheduling as requested.
- Manage nurse-to-patient ratios: ICU 1:3, IMC/PCU 1:3-4, Med Surg 1:5, with team nursing involving RNs and LPNs covering up to 7 patients total.
- Read and interpret telemetry strips independently (remote monitoring from Eau Claire).
- Titrate drips, including Amiodarone, Heparin, Levo, Cardizem, Dobutamine, and pressors.
- Step into a charge nurse role if needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of PCU experience (MS-Tele experience is not sufficient) or prior ICU experience.
- Experience with Cerner charting system.
- Current ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications.
Facility Details
This acute care facility operates a 12-bed PCU/IMC/Med Surg unit with 4 ICU rooms, maintaining an average census of 8 patients. Common patient conditions include pneumonia, post-operative knee and hip procedures, and fall-related injuries. The facility uses Cerner for charting and features remote telemetry monitoring. Support staff includes CNAs, a charge nurse, and a house supervisor who also covers the emergency department. The facility is designated as a Trauma Level 4 care setting.

Pay
Estimated gross weekly pay is $2,520, plus a $500 contract completion bonus. Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week, with tax-free stipends for lodging, meals, and incidentals.
