Requirements
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- NICU certification (required for Tele/Pulm)
Specialized Skills
The Telemetry & Pulm Step Down Unit (Tele/Pulm) cares for patients with moderate physiologic instability requiring support. Examples include COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF & trach patients. Tele/Pulm patients are hemodynamically stable that require cardiac & respiratory monitoring & management every 2-4 hours.
Procedures Performed
- Oxygen therapy including: Nasal Cannula, BIPAP/CPAP, Vo (Low Flo)
Nursing Interventions
- Vital Signs: Every 4 hours
- Continuous cardiac monitoring
- Blood Glucose Monitoring: Every 4 hours
- Neurological monitoring: Any frequency
NIH Certifications Required
