Job Description

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital’s Progressive Ventilator Stepdown Unit (PVSU) is a specialized 16 bed step-down unit for vented and trach patients, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. You will care for patients requiring tracheostomy, mechanical ventilation, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), prolonged weaning, peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC), and feeding pumps. Most patients are transferred from the intensive care unit and require advanced respiratory and critical care skills.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse, PCU Experience: 2 years
  Certifications: BLS-AHA; ACLS-AHA; CERT-NIH Stroke Scale
  Holidays: Yes

  Float: Yes
  Scrub Colors: Navy Blue
  Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EMT Patients
  Compact RN License In-Hand
  Previous Travel Experience
