About the Role

13-week travel nursing assignment in Louisville, KY with shifts available in both days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) and nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM). Weekly pay: $2,334 for 3x12-hour shifts. Unit details:

• 38-bed Neuro-Stroke ASC unit organized in pods
• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 3–5:1, max 5:1
• EPIC EMR; Galaxy Blue scrubs (not provided)
• Telemetry monitoring is not the RN’s responsibility
• Common diagnoses: stroke, spine surgery
• Common medications: heparin only
• Key skills: IV insertion, blood draws, PCA management, trach care, central line care

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition; make sound independent clinical decisions.
• Initiate, prioritize, and implement individualized plans of care; review and revise plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions in a timely and accurate manner.
• Facilitate, coordinate, and evaluate patient and family education specific to care, treatment, services, and discharge needs.
• Delegate tasks appropriately to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as a mentor and preceptor to staff while fostering teamwork.
• Participate in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts; comply with regulatory standards and contribute to the Practice Governance model.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN).
• Minimum of two (2) years of acute care RN experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
