This position offers a 13-week travel assignment with a focus on progressive care in a fast-paced, cardiac telemetry unit. The team fosters a family-like atmosphere, and many travel nurses transition to full-time employees.

Unit Details

  • 29-bed unit with a 1:4 patient-to-nurse ratio
  • Staffing includes Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
  • Equipment: Alaris IV Pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, Dinamap monitors, Welch Allen Vital Machines, wound vacs, temporary pacemakers, telemetry monitors, EKG machines, bladder scanners, Dopplers, and Imobile communication devices
  • Documentation system: Meditech
  • Scheduling: Full-time hours, including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
  • Floating: Contract nurses may float to areas where competency is demonstrated
  • Patient Experience: Emphasis on courtesy, responsiveness, personal connections, bedside shift reports, and patient education
  • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (black scrub pants allowed with navy blue top)
  • Awards: AHA "Get With the Guidelines-Heart Failure GOLD PLUS with Honor Roll"

Responsibilities

  • Provide post-cardiac procedural care (ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op day 1 open heart, permanent pacemaker placements)
  • Administer and titrate IV medications (e.g., insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone)
  • Perform procedures: IV insertions, NGT placement/maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemaker management, Foley insertions
  • Read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
  • Adhere to unit-specific policies and ICARE values

Requirements

  • Cardiac telemetry or PCU/ICU experience
  • ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications

Schedule

  • 13-week assignment starting 09/14/2026
  • 36 hours per week, 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
