- Number of Beds: 18
- Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
- Type of equipment: Alaris pumps, Kangaroo pump, Pxysis, computers available in every room
- Documentation system: Meditech
- On Call Requirements: none
The Telemetry & Pulm Step Down Unit (Tele/Pulm) cares for patients with moderate physiologic instability requiring support. Examples include COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, and trach patients. Tele/Pulm patients are hemodynamically stable but require cardiac and respiratory monitoring and management every 2-4 hours. The level of care in the Tele/Pulm unit is less than the ICU but more than that provided in Medical/Surgical Units. This unit specializes in the care of cardiac and pulmonary patients.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-year current acute care PCU hospital experience
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- NIH certification
