About the Role

Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignment in Spokane, Washington. This is a night shift position with 12-hour shifts.

Hospital Details

• Level 3 Trauma Center (388 facility beds)
• 34 beds in the PCU unit

Patient Types / Common Diagnoses

• Cardiac & Vascular Care: MI, post-op open-heart surgery (including TAVR and fem-pop bypass within 24 hours), pre- and post-op open-heart patients (24–48 hours post-op), cardiac arrhythmias, Tikosyn therapy, pacemakers, ICDs, PCU-level patients, post-cardiac catheterization (femoral/radial with TR bands), carotid and thoracotomy patients transitioning from ICU, microvascular flap procedures, amputations related to vascular complications.
• Cardiac Telemetry: Chest pain evaluation, stress testing, heart catheterization, arrhythmia management, percutaneous interventions, pacemaker upgrades.

Patient Ratios: 1:3–4 | EMR: EPIC

Responsibilities

• Care for cardiovascular patients
• Identify and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Manage epidurals and chest tubes
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips: Nitro, Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine (fixed rate), Dobutamine (fixed rate)
• Float to MedSurg units and ICU to cover overflow assignments (travelers are first to float)

Requirements

• 2 years of strong cardiac or PCU experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
