Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $2,400 per week

Job Summary

The healthcare provider is seeking a registered nurse with a specialty in Step Down Units for an assignment in Morgantown, West Virginia. This position involves caring for typical medical-surgical patient populations, including conditions such as chest pain, COPD, AMS, pneumonia, UTI, abdominal pain, hospice, and overflow cases. The role requires flexibility to float to different floors or step-down units as needed.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, including weekend shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Required Qualifications

• Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Two or more years of relevant experience preferred but not required
• Valid license to practice nursing
• Willingness to wait for licensure submission

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with adult medical-surgical patient populations
• Able to read telemetry strips
• Proficiency in managing titratable and set rate drips such as heparin
• Familiarity with electronic charting systems, specifically EPIC

Additional Information

• Unit includes 32 beds, with 12 step-down and 20 floor beds
• Ratios are 1:3 for step-down and 1:4 to 1:6 for the floor
• Common diagnoses include chest pain, COPD, AMS, pneumonia, UTI, abdominal pain, overflow, and hospice care
• Equipment used on this unit includes telemetry monitors, ventilators, Cpap, BiPAP, with RN staff able to read strips and monitor telemetry
• The unit employs a charge nurse and house supervisor, with a floating requirement enabling staff to be assigned to various floors or step-down units
• Dress code color is royal blue
