About the role
A neuro step-down unit nurse in the setting of acute inpatient care specializes in managing patients with neurological conditions such as strokes, seizures, and post-craniotomy recovery. This role involves providing high-level nursing care for higher acuity neuroscience patients, including those with EVDs, TPA, and other neurological diagnoses, within a specialized neuroscience unit.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized neuro patient care
- Manage titratable drips such as Amiodarone and Insulin
- Follow unit protocols for patient management
Required Qualifications
- BLS and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Ability to manage neuro patients, including stroke and seizure care
- NIHSS certification in hand at time of submission
- Ability to titrate specified drips based on physician orders or protocols
Schedule
- Nights
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Shift hours: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Minimum 36 hours per week
