Travel Nurse RN - Palliative - $3,072 per week

About the role

Travel nurse RN Palliative position in Wausau, Wisconsin. 13‑week travel assignment starting 11/02/2026, working 48 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) in a dedicated 10‑bed palliative care unit. The role involves providing comfort‑centered care for palliative, hospice and med/surg patients, floating to other inpatient units as needed, and maintaining a 5:1 RN‑to‑patient ratio with support from CNAs.

Responsibilities

• Work 12‑hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, guaranteeing 48 hours per week.
• Rotate every other weekend and holiday as required.
• Provide palliative, comfort/hospice and med/surg care to patients on the 10‑bed unit.
• Apply Med/Surg skill set when caring for Med/Surg patients within the palliative unit.
• Float to any inpatient unit as needed based on census.
• Utilize Epic for charting.
• Adhere to low‑census policy allowing shift reductions in 4‑hour increments (up to 36 unbillable hours per contract).

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required; 1 year of inpatient palliative care preferred.
• Experience in Palliative Care or Hospice preferred but not required.
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required.
• Current Wisconsin RN license.
• AHA or ARC BLS certification.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Ability to wear any scrub color.

Skills

• Med/Surg clinical competence.
• Palliative/hospice care knowledge (preferred).
• Epic EMR proficiency.
• Effective communication and teamwork with RNs and CNAs.
• Flexibility to float across units and adapt to changing census.
