Travel Nurse RN - PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - $2,475 per week
Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN for a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) assignment in Weirton, West Virginia.
About the Role
A Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse is needed to provide postoperative assessments, manage patient recovery, and educate patients and families on discharge care. The role requires strong clinical skills in managing ventilated patients and experience in PACU care.
- Common cases: general, orthopedic, urology, vascular, podiatry, and more
- Patients recover from ICU in the PACU; RNs are expected to read and interpret telemonitors
- Orientation includes 3-5 days with a preceptor
- Holiday rotation and weekend call requirements may apply
- The unit maintains a 50-mile radius rule for submissions
- All candidates must include a copy of their unexpired driver’s license at submission
Responsibilities
- Conduct postoperative assessments
- Monitor patient recovery
- Provide pain management
- Educate patients and families on postoperative care, medications, and follow-up
Requirements
- Valid nursing license
- Minimum of 1 year of PACU experience
- Experience managing ventilated patients
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 8-hour days, 40 hours per week
