Travel Nurse RN - PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - $2,175 per week
About the role
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) position is based in a Level I Trauma facility located in Saint Louis, Missouri. This 12-week assignment requires performing preoperative and postoperative patient care within a fast-paced environment. The role involves managing complex postoperative patients including those with multiple drains, vasoactive drips, and mechanical ventilation, with flexibility and efficiency being essential.
This position is for a short-term acute care facility with approximately 50 daily patient visits and 30 bays in the PACU. Experience in managing high-acuity postoperative patients, rapid patient turnover, and proficiency in EKG rhythm analysis are required. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team, with responsibilities including blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, and transfusion procedures.
RTO Restrictions: No more than 7 days of mandatory time off (RTO), with all RTO to be finalized at the time of application, and no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment.
Schedule
- 12-week assignment starting 09/14/2026
- 40 hours per week
- 10-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
Responsibilities
- Perform preoperative and postoperative patient care
- Manage complex postoperative patients, including those with multiple drains, vasoactive drips, and mechanical ventilation
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias
- Administer blood products and perform transfusion procedures
- Care for ventilated patients
- Conduct blood drawing and IV starts
- Provide recovery from general anesthesia
- Pass Relias Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM) and EKG exams
Requirements
- Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
- At least one year of critical care or Level I Trauma Center Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience
- Valid license in Missouri, or compact license, or license in hand at time of submittal
- Experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, blood drawing, IV starts, and recovery from general anesthesia
Preferred Qualifications
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification

Pay
Pay package is based on 10-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
